Hello,
I'm currently in the process of shooting a feature on a C100mk1 with an Atomos recorder. Our primary location had no running water or electricity so the C100 was a perfect choice with it's great battery life and insane low light. On paper this camera isn't too hot but I love it for stuff like this where you're against the odds. I originally shot with a Ninja Star but I've since swapped it out for a Ninja Blade. The ProRes is really useful for low light shots as it makes the noise look much nicer due to the high bitrate.
Our primary location was at the top of a huge hill, inaccessible by car so things like generators etc were out of the question. Our power source came from 3 caravan batteries which charged all our kit over the week. Our food was cooked on a camping stove, we had a composting toilet and had to wash with a kettle's worth of water. With all this going on, the C100 was a nice simple camera to cause no extra headaches.
The story follows a pair of hapless children's book writers that head to the countryside in order to get some work done, eventually haunted by their own creation. It's a silly British horror comedy. At this point we've shot around half the film (maybe more) for just over £1500. We did rent another C100 as a B-Cam and I've since bought a C300mk1 for cheap. If I had the money I would have shot on a C200 or C300mk2 but unfortunately I can't afford it at the moment.
Here are a few WIP graded stills. Ripped from Twitter so probably poor quality.
