I believe the spec sheet says its resolves about 1000 lines of resolution... I know someone said they where doing a test.. just wondering if that'll be part of the test...

Thanks for the footage Gary! I do notice more color noise in the footage shot with the external recorder... Why? Specially in the last minutes from 2:40 onward. Is this a ProRes thing, or is the AVCHD filtering the noise?

It's AVCHD filtering the noise. All AVCHD cameras are noisier when you start using an external recorder.

I went to Currumbin Beach (Gold Coast, Australia) this morning and shot a test as well. AVCHD + Wide DR mode. Nothing too fancy, just a test of AVCHD workflow to web video. Not trying to max out video quality, just see what could be done with AVCHD > FCPX > Vimeo with no grading.

Really blown away by the DR on the beach shots.

I would love to see a dynamic range test compared to the 5D.

There's this C100 vs 5DIII test, hopefully more will come soon. I have a 7D so will be comparing it with that this weekend.
