C100: C100 Rigging decisions

Hi guys,

Wonder if you can help. Loving my C100 thus far, and after a few shoots its more than proved its worth. However, I've run into a few ergonomic concerns which means I'm in the market for a quick release system/baseplate/top cheeseplate or a combination thereof.

I regularly mount my Small HD AC7 to the top handle using a articulating arm, but I'm not massively keen on how much weight that's putting on the hot shoe mount, and its a pain to de-rig when I need to go handheld. I'm also not keen about how the camera attaches to my Vinten tripod plate (there's a visible gap at the back of the camera) and I'm also in need of unifying the quick release system across my kit (currently a mixture of Vinten and Manfrotto) to save time on location (as I shoot single person 95% of the time)

I'd like to keep the 'rig' as lightweight as possible, as I went with the C100 to avoid the pain of a big rig, and want to be able to go handheld with ease.

I was almost sold on the Wooden Camera quick base, but the price to kit everything out with arri dovetails is a bit prohibitive. I'm pretty sold on the Kessler Kwik release system, but have heard reports on this forum about it having the potential to strip the threads out of the baseplate. I was also considering pairing the Kessler system with A Zacuto Gorilla baseplate, and then mounting the whole lot to my Vision Blue, but I'm concerned the whole lot might end up a bit top heavy and with too many points of connection. There's also the option of the Wooden camera top plate to mount my monitor to, and forego the whole baseplate thing all together.

Anywho, as you can see I'm in a bit of a bind as to where to spend my hard earned cash, so would appreciate any thoughts on the matter!

Cheers,
