A quick dual recording using Ninja v1 on the C100. Shot ISO 850 in my messy studio. The Nija is not picking up the internal TC, I will look into this. I have a Ninja v2 coming soon to test as well.
At first glans the 422 Ninja footage looks cleaner. I will do more tests with the NanoFlash as well of some running water etc. Studio lighting shots with a model tomorrow I will post those results a well.

first thanks for all your tests that youve been providing Olof! greatly appreciated.

for the ninja, im noticing more irregular blotchy artifacts for instance on the far left around the word "RCA" on the brown box and downwards with items in front of the brown foam baffle attached to the wall. i went into 200%. the ninja is streaky compared to a cleaner internal codec. the bigger question for me is how is the ninja doing for "motion". most everything ive seen so far with comparisons im not convinced that there is really any notable improvement with the ninja.

another C100 video that showed the 3 musicians jamming in a pub illustrated much more noise when shooting thru an external recorder. @ 10,000 ISO it was shockingly noisier. even lower ISO footage seems to show more noise. id like to hear what people have to say about that. is recording externally bypassing internal camera NR? that could explain noiser ninja footage. if shootin a ninja technically gets more information & detail it seems after applying needed NR that the net gain (if any at all) would be lost.

i know technically 422 should net more. i have yet to see a net gain in the various demonstrations that ive been looking at on these forums.

makes me think that the internal codec is unlike any AVCHD codec we've seen before.

EDIT: i just noticed in the upper far right that the red green & blue cables are a little smoother on the ninja. this makes sense. still im disturbed by the blotchy streakiness on the ninja and overall irregularities i see which to me very much dilutes the slight gain in the smoother color in the RG&B cables.

EDIT: a little cleaner in the motion pans on the ninja. makes sense

AVCHD does not have as much detail due to compression and so that acts like a noise reducer at high ISO, could do the same or better in post.
