I know it's always best to underexpose a bit, but I was surprised by this. In some test shooting in Wide DR I'm finding pure whites in the lit scene at around 80% (on the waveform) look better (easier to grade, more visually pleasing, no blown out whites or crushed blacks) on our broadcast monitor with the whole scene after grading than whites shot at 90 or 100%. Thoughts? Is this a combo of the Wide DR profile and Canon's CMOS chip? OR am I looking at this all wrong?
