C100: C100 mk II Ninja Star 3:2 pulldown problem

I just shot for four days on the C100 mkII with the Ninja Star. Seemed great. Everything was 23.98 coming out of C100. I failed to notice the setting at the top of Ninja Star which locked in 29.97i.

Now all of my footage shows 29.97i with the 3:2 pulldown.

How do I remove this in FCPX?

Thanks!

This is a slight tangent but figured I'd share my experience in case it's at all helpful. I ran into a related issue recording C100 Mk1 23.976 video to a Ninja Blade set to 59.94i. The ninja files showed up as 29.97 fps files in Premiere Pro CC 2015. These ninja files will play back flawlessly in a 23.976 sequence created from a correctly identified 23.976 AVCHD file in Premiere Pro CC 2015. Premiere seems to do all the pull down conversion jujitsu in the background automatically.

I also did a double check on the Ninja Star specs page http://www.atomos.com/ninja-star/ and it only lists progressive recording at 30fps so you may actually have 59.94i files. Premiere shows the 60 fields per second rate files as 30 frames per second in the file properties, initially causing me great confusion. Maybe FCPX is doing something similar. Have you tried placing one of your videos on a 23.976 timeline?

Hope that helps!

I was at Abel Cine in NY for the C300 MK2 demo. Abel Cine had on display a C100 MK2 with a Ninja Blade attached. I noticed the same problem. When I set the C100 to 24fps, the Ninja Blade recognized it as 30fps. I could not get the Blade to match the camera at 24fps. The Blade had v5.1 firmware installed. This does not appear to happen with the C100 MK1. I wonder if there is a compatibility issue with C100 MK2 and Ninja Blade?

You need to set the pulldown removal to 60i->24p if you're shooting in 24p. The Ninja should have the light on under 60i->24p instead of "LOCK". That will get you a 23.98fps file.
