C100: C100 Mark II - How is internal recording with C-Log?

I'm due to receive this camera soon and am still on the fence about whether to get an external recorder. How well will the h264 C-log footage work with the likes of filmconvert and LUTs? I don't usually do anything too intricate with grading (such as huge contrast or whitebalance changes) and most if not all my work (for now anyway) will be going straight to Youtube/Vimeo.

The thing is if I do use a recorder Id need to use the BM Video Assist or the Atomos Assassin to get 60fps recording. The first of which has no exposure/focus assists and the latter is over £1000.

It's pretty solid. Just ETTR and add contrast in post, super clean. 100% of the time I found C-Log to be problematic is when I was fooled by the monitor to underexpose, which in Canon land is a disaster.

C-Log definitely works internally, for web, it absolutely does. Also for web when you get the camera you'll probably shoot WDR for minimal grading, which also looks great.

I don't think you should get an external recorder now before it arrives. Let it arrive and if you find the codec is limiting you then look for a solution to a problem that exists. Shall you need an external recorder I'd personally get a 500$ Ninja Blade and record the 60p internally, unless 60p is 90% of what I shoot. I was buying the Blade recently and compared it to the shogun, in person the blade is surprisngly so much nicer as a body vs the plasticy shogun, and the size is just much better for these kind of cameras, and the reflectivness of the screen is too much, it also feels weird in weight balance on the left and right, not centered. The 7" screen for a director, indoors is good though, but if it's a director monitor I am looking for I'd get a Brigh SmallHD 7".

The C100II LCD, EVF, focus/exposure assist tools and the quality of the files don't need any add ons anyway as far as I am concerned. Using the small battery and losing the top handle + a small 3.5mm mic for me is an absolute joy to shoot with DSLR-style. If it weren't for that damned 4K movement I'd have bought one instead of renting it repeatedly.

What's the benefit of shooting 60p (or 50p) internally when the delivery is 30p (or 25p)?
Does it apply also to the Canon 7D MKII with external recorder (the Ninja Blade)?
