Hello, owner of C100 mark II and I'm interested to know what is the best option (when record internally MP4) for low light condition.
I read that the Wide DR is common use but grain / noise in low light. Don't know what max ISO is recommanded to use with Wide DR for example
Saw also that some people modified some profiles but didn't find one yet.
If you have any recommandation and experience to share, would be appreciated.
Thanks to all in advance

It would be best for you to test yourself, but here is where I would start:
  • Start with a neutral profile
  • Gamma and color matrix set to Cine 1 or Cine 2 (if you don't want to deal with canon log)
  • sharpness all the way down, -10
  • noise reduction to taste, somewhere between 3 and 5 to avoid losing detail
  • Might want to make sure the black level is turned down just a bit so black in the waveform (like with the lens cap on) is just kissing zero IRE.
  • I've heard people say that when the C100 record super-whites (the levels above 100% IRE) it can add noise. Perhaps test engaging the PRESS function or lowering the overall setup level?

Here's a test I did with the mkII set to a pretty stock CINE 1 profile. I may have had some light noise reduction on. I'm not sure. You can download the raw file. It's straight off the SD card, no re-encode. To my eyes, I would feel comfortable going very high ISO if a run-n-gun situation warranted it (like a wedding reception with little light):
