Hi All,

I have just made the jump and purchased a C100 that I am going to be using with a Ninja 2, a NTG 3 mic in one channel and internal on he other. Does anyone have any advice on how to set the camera up (Menu Wise) to shoot at 25p. I am going to be using it as my A Cam and a 5D Mk3 as my B Cam, mostly for shooting weddings. We have alot of experience in this field but as this is going to be the first time using it in the field, I want to make sure I have the camera optimised!

Any help or advice is much appreciated.

Thanks Ben,

I will check them out. I don't suppose you know how the footage shot at PF 25 on the C100 cuts together with 25p ALL I from the 5D mk3? I'm still a little confused by the difference between the two frame rates.

Thanks again for any advice

25PF needs to be converted before you can use properly with most NLE... though it depends what system you use. I work in Premiere CS6 and there is no support for PSF which is quite annoying.

Some people use Clipwrap or 5DtoRGB for a conversion or rewrap. By converting to progressive ProRes it seemed to clean up the issues. Hoping they introduce some updates on the software side soon.

I shoot 30PF and interpret it to progressive when I import with Media Browser in CS6 on Windows. Works perfectly in a 29.97 timeline. I also take the opportunity to change the audio to MONO to keep the two channels separate.

This introduces aliasing and a resolution hit when I use it.

It eliminated aliasing and horrible moire when I was told to do it. It's a "must do" every time for me and my C100 footage.

Note: I don't actually interpret the footage as I import via Media Browser. I do that with a right click on the file once it's in the clip bin, select interpret footage and select "conform to: No Fields (progressive scan). I then hop over to the Audio Channels tab and select the Mono preset.

Hi All,

Thanks for all of the replies. I will be recording onto the cards in the camera, (Back up) but also onto the Ninja 2 as ProRes 422. Correct me if I am mistaken, but as I am going to be importing directly into FCPX I shouldn't have to do any 'wrapping'?

Thanks again
