I'm not sure if this is the proper forum for this post, but since I'll be purchasing a C100 after the new year, I thought I'd start here.
My stock and trade is shooting aircraft in flight which has me in an aircraft with the doors removed shooting the subject aircraft flying formation beside my "photo-platform". It's a windy and sometimes unstable environment . I currently use a Kenlab KS6 gyro stabilizer for my 5DmkII's and 1DmkIV. I have an Arca Swiss style quick release system to switch the gyro from body to body. I've been frustrated with the mkII video files and am looking forward to the mkIII and C100. My still work has me doing some heavy handed color post in Photoshop and find that I can't seem to push the mkII files as much as I want. For this reason I plan on using the HyperDeck Shuttles for both the mkIII and C100.
My idea is to have the Shuttle attached to the camera via the tripod mount in a yet undetermined nature. I realize this will require a custom case for the Shuttle. The Shuttle case will then have the QR plate for the gyro. I've thought about keeping the Shuttles in my small camera bag and running the HDMI cables out to the cameras, but with headset chords, camera straps and a safety harness, things are cluttered enough.
Do any of you see an issue with the Shuttle attached the way I describe? Or have any suggestions otherwise.
Best,
Mike
