C300: C100 Handle with mic on C300 body

Hello

i wonder if some one ever considered to Create something so that it could be possible to mount the top Handle from C100 to C300 camera body!

that would be a huge deal! as the C100 Handle has a MIC on its top handle! at that moment the cord from C100 is a little shorter , and cant reach C300 holes...


also would be great to use c100 handle on c 300, but also use the monitor unit same time.....

not sure if its technically possible , but if it is - i would love to use it this way!

Hi, something like this came up a while ago on the another forum (except I think he wanted to use the C300 LCD/Audio assembly on a C100). These were my personal thoughts on it at the time. It may be possible (if you had an Audio lead extension cable made, I supposed).

"C300 XLR/LCD assembly has 2 leads, one for video and one for audio. C100 XLR assembly has one shorter lead. C100 body has just a socket for the audio this lead carries. I am told the audio connections on the C100 (plug and socket) are identical to the C300. So in theory you could use the XLR audio....but someone with both cams would have to test - and what's the point as the LCD would be unusable as there is no home for the video lead."
 
c300 monitor unit comes with 2 cords. as i understand 1 for video & 1 for audio.... so if that C100 handle has identical cord for sound - it could be used on C300 body i hope - and its what i want!

i want c300 with the Handle from C100. Purpose? huge in my opinion - as c100 handle has internal Mic!!! so we could take the monitor unit off from C300 as well as the handle , and put on c300 body the handle from c100 - NOW WE have and SOUND and Handle!!! - its BEST for run and gun in case if u dont need a pro sound, but just something for reference.

right now if u will strip down the c300 u dont have the sound and u need mic , if u put mic , thats it u dont have a top handle! , ok yes u can put extra mic on top of c300 handle but its now kind of too bulky!

Just think about it - its great
i believe the handle from c100 would be a great addition to c300! and ergonomic is saved!

I hope some who has both c300 and c100 could test if it would work
 
I am very interested in this. I'd love to have a compact handle with built-in mic and audio controls on my C300. If someone could test, that would be great. Thanks.

glad to hear i am not alone! unfortunately, canon cps team told me that the connectors on c100 and c300 are different... so in order to try it out some one should consider creating an adopter that will match the c300 hole!

but also seems like my idea is a dead one, i had to try it earlier, but anyway...... when i take out any of the EXT.... EXT1 or EXT2 - i loose the monitor unit and sound...... EVF of course is working, but....

so seems like ext1 & ext2, are mixed some how,-not just 1 for video and 1 for audio, thats sucks,-

Thanks for testing that. Still, it would be great for Canon to offer an optional compact handle with audio only control and built-in mic for running and gunning. Cheers.
