C100 evf

From the photos, it looks like the EVF on the C100 is different than the C300 - at least the housing/eyepiece is. If the EVF itself is a step down from the C300 this could be a big drawback. However, the C100 seems designed more for run-n-gun than the C300, so perhaps it's the same EVF in a slightly smaller housing. Does anyone know about this?

I had the camera in my hand yesterday....it is not the same as the C300 or C500....the EVF is smaller, does not telescope out, and looking in it, the screen does appear to be smaller. That being said, the whole camera is very impressive, light weight, and very comfortable to hold even with the Canon Cinema Prime 85mm on it.

Were you able to shoot anything with it?

I had the C100 & C300 in my hands at the IBC, the resolution of the C100 EVF is really low and its fixed. So it's a real problem for run & gun if you don't want extra gear to carry with you. It's a shame the didn't used the EVF of the C300, which is great.

I reckon Zacuto are going to sell shed loads of their C100 viewfinder attachments for this very reason - video link below. Shame, that's another expensive bolt on I'd rather not have had to buy. But I'll see how I get on first - when I get the cam delivered (whenever that will be!) as an external recorder may or may not be more urgent.

Is the EVF strong enough that it will support the pressure applied to it when you use a viewfinder attachment as a second pressure point for camera stability?

The EVF extends out to the side so I worry about torquing it to the side where there is no rear support.
