C100: C100 Essential accesories

I was just wondering what people see as essentials in their C100 arsenal? An EVF? Ninja 2? Shoulder brace?

I'm a new owner so would love to hear about other people's setups.

(ps. apologies for the wrong spelling of accessories in the title)

SDHC Cards, Canon Lens, Blue Star Extra Small Round Eye Cushion, Charged batteries (you did buy an extra right!)
Go Crazy!
The rest is really up to individual needs. Tripod, Monopod, LCD Finder. Once you start adding things that add weight and extra power needs you will need to add a baseplate with rods to support all that weight. Like a Ninja 2, EVF, etc.
Are you using the camera to make a living? Full time or part time? Lots of questions before any advice. I would outfit the minimum and go shoot before going overboard unless you have a lot of paying jobs lined up.

Best,

Yeah I have some paying jobs lined up. Got a great package deal with the Ninja 2 (for my short film making, mainly) and extra batteries and a couple of SD cards!

I love the viewfinder cover from smallHD for their DP4. It's a perfect match the C100 and is only like $40 - makes it so much better.

Otherwise the nice thing about this camera is the ability to just pick it up and go. I have a Ninja 2 which is good for high profile gigs, and also a 7 inch color accurate monitor that I prefer to have around because colors are terrible on the C100 LCD. Otherwise lenses, tripods, baseplates, rails... have it all but only use the stuff needed for a given gig.

Zacuto z finder is a must for out door videography!
It is small and compact, much better then any monitor for my work, I need it to be fast and as compact as possible.

I think he means the nylon sunhood since the viewfinder loupe is a lot more pricey and attaches to the dp4 with a frame. I actually use a Petrol sunhood that works pretty well.

Really? Just snaps right on?

I agree that a small monitor like the DP6 is a must have to really see the image that the C100 produces. The problem that I have is working outside and handheld the monitor is less effective even with the sunshade. I am using the Hoodman Finder on the LCD when I have the camera stripped down and I am outside.

The DP7 High Bright is amazing. I saw it at NAB. They took it outside in full sun and the image was very good. I never seen a monitor work like that before. Down side is it's expensive. $3K.

Seems like a lot of us are really focused on accessories that make this camera's imagery visible while shooting! :-) I'm no different.

Just took delivery of the Petrol PA1018 hood for the C100 yesterday. Fits like a glove, extremely handy. (However, the PA1016 works well too, just a slightly sloppier fit). I use a Zacuto EVF when I need a small external monitor, and I too use the DP4 eyecup + eyecup chamois trick for the EVF (tip: gaff tape over the adjustable diopter once you set it, otherwise removing the eyecup tweaks it); the z-finder replacement cup isn't snug enough for my tastes, lets in too much light.

I'd argue that another key accessory is a flexible base plate. Use whatever brand and design floats your boat. I use the Zacuto studio baseplate because I need full front-back rails, unlike their Gorilla plate. (The Redrock Micro lowBaseplate will not fit the C100.)
