C100: C100 DSLR replacement?

Most of my professional gigs employ an Alexa these days, and I find that my trusty C100 Mk1 (which served me well for many years) is getting next to no use, so it's time to sell. To replace it, I'd like some type of Canon camera body to use on the side, mostly for personal non-professional or semi-professional b-roll use with still photography and some limited video (24fps would be great), and I've got a ton of Canon EF glass. I want to stick under 1k for whatever I buy, whether it's new or used. Preferably something I can carry around my neck. Strongly considering a new EOS 77D. Any ideas or recommendations from you guys out there in the EOS world? Thanks in advance!

If it's for a lot of personal work and still mostly video, why not keep the 100? I've never been a fan of the Cx00 body design, BUT at least it's still a video camera. The only thing worse than shooting video with a C100/200/300 body is shooting video with a DSLR. Just my .02. But keep in mind, I'm still happiest with my P2 VariCam w/real ENG lens on my shoulder over anything else I shoot with on a regular basis(C300, F55, Amira).

Yeah, the idea is a smaller form factor, and something I can use my Canon glass on. I guess stripping down the C100 to it's basics makes it pretty small, but I'd like something I could carry easily to concerts, local excursions, vacations, etc. Still photography is probably more important than video for this particular goal, but being able to shoot video is an occasional must.

I was in much the same situation. Bought an EOS M50 kit (15-45mm f3.5-5.6), M22mm f2.0 which stays on and lets me put the camera in a coat pocket, and Vitrox adapter which lets me use my EF glass, some of which I've recently sold. No remorse whatsoever. The internet hates this camera, but for me it just feels like I've come back home.

Do check out the 80D. I quite appreciate the amazing DPAF of the 70, 77, and 80D, it’s really outstanding in stills as well as video.

I think of these 3 as roughly (roughly!) equivalent for stills. But, for the occasional video use, the 80D has a few more helpful features. Like a headphones jack, if sound matters in what you’ll shoot.

If 4K isn't important to you, I have an 80D that I use the exact same way, mostly stills, occasionally as a b camera or gimbal camera and it's not bad. I like it with the EF-S 10-18mm 4.5-5.6 on the gimbal if there is light to work with. As a still camera, no complaints although if I am shooting sports the 7D MKII is a lot more fun with it's 10 fps. But the 80D is solid, no "ragrets" (bad tattoo) for the money. Still has Canon color, but the video is a lot softer than the your C100.

no "ragrets" (bad tattoo)

Off topic: If I were to get a tattoo, misspelled regrets would be a leading candidate. I dig that. Though perhaps it's too common now.

On topic: The rumored 90D could be great. But as mentioned in the link Spartacus provides, looks like it and a 77D replacement won't be announced until next year (perhaps early next year?). The camera we want is often the camera that isn't yet available. :-( When do you want/need to buy?
