C100: C100/c300 zacuto studio baseplate - rods spinning

Hi,

i have a zacuto c300 studio baseplate and the knobs don't tighten the rods securely, they keep spinning. This makes some of my accessories unusable like a Cinevate durus follow focus, a zacuto tri mount evf attached to one rod...

i sent the baseplate back to Zacuto after a nice exchange of emails with their fast customer support. They sent me back the exact same baseplate with the same problem, with no explaination of anything being fixed ( if anything has been fixed...).

this is quite frustrating, the rods should stay strongly in place to keep the accessories and the camera secure. And i can't spend my time shipping back the baseplate and work with no rods system.

anybody having this problem? Am I missing something here?

Yes they are. I sent back the baseplate with the rods to Zacuto to check them out. They didn't say anything or write anything back, they sent me back the same plate with the rods and the problem is still there :)
 
I will try casley17.

I contacted their support, again, and they will send a replacement. We'll see if it is better, Otherwise I would be extremely disappointed in a baseplate that can't handle a pair of rods... At that price point, that's not happening.

Their support is great and fast, that's another thing to mentioned. At first they wanted to ship an extra piece to add to the rods to block them, but after follow focus, mattebox and other accessories it's way too crowded on there to add another piece just to fix this...

Anyway, I'll keep you guys posted. I saw a few posts online from people who had the same problem.
