C100: C100 avchd and Premiere Import Conversion

Was using Adobe Media Encoder with the Cineform codec but have stopped transcoding after Adobe's recent fix of the AVCHD bug in CS6.

That was my question: Why transcode? CS6 deals with AVCHD native files just fine for me. Just import via Media Browser, set video to progressive, set audio to mono and get to work.

There was a well documented, seemingly inconsistent, bug with playback of spanned AVCHD clips. This was a pretty compelling reason to transcode. Adobe released an update to CS6 that fixed the bug a few weeks ago.

Thanks for responding everyone. The only reason I want to convert is that I keep getting an error message when trying to import AVCHD saying it is not supported. I am using adobe CC so I should have the most up to date version. Any suggestions as to why I might be getting this error?

Contemplating getting Premiere CC....
Interesting timing as I'm sitting here waiting as Avid is transcoding the C100 clips to dnxhd 175.... *jeopardy theme*

Can you elaborate on the media browser? I have been using FCP and am now trying Adobe. I am opening Premiere and telling it to import the AVCHD file. I am not sure what the media browser is?
