I've been trying to squeeze better audio out of my C100. Not that it's bad, quite the contrary. But I'm forced to admit I don't quite understand when to use the limiter and the mic trimming. I read someplace that it's good to use a -6 setting mic trim on a wireless, and I've tried that with my Sennheiser EV100 series with Sanken COS11 lav. I "seem" to get better results by leaving the trimming off and instead engaging the limiter. But I still need to get the gain levels pretty hot to get a robust signal, and then I have almost 0 headroom. I've posted about a related topic (C100 displays erroneous peaking), and this is part of my ongoing research. Anyway, what I'm looking for is a strong, juicy signal with some headroom. And no, that's not an innuendo. So if someone could help me with maximizing the camera's audio potential, I'd appreciate it.
