C-Mount lens: the hunt begins anew

I've received my adaptor right on time before a nice weekend travel... oh I like this Canon 25 1.4

around F11 maybe?

I've got several C-mount lenses and Two C-mount adapters. I like the c-mount to 4/3 adapter SLR majgic as it seems more finely machined than the one from Rainbow. Lenses are :
25mm F1.4 CCTV (no vignette)
35mm F1.1 CCTV (no vignette)
9.5 mm F 1.2 Angeneix (vignettes)
11-70mm F1.4 Canon TV zoom (vignettes)

Rather than use the digital zoom to get rid of the vignetting I've been using 1080 clips in a 720 P timeline in Final Cut Pro, which works okay but I would still love the luxury of editing in 1080P.
My ideal solution would be for Tester 13 to include the Extended Optical Zoom mode so that it would work while shooting in movie mode. I'm not holding my breath on this feature.
So my question is: Has anyone tried using a c-mount 2X optical extender like this with their lens to overcome vignetting? and do they work?

Jay, I just bought that lens. Waiting on it to get here, it's my first c-mount and I'm very excited to see how it differs from my full frame lenses.

anyone tried 1.5 or 2x C mount teleconverters to turn those vignetting 25mm - 16mm lenses into full sensor lenses?

can it work?? I ordered a 2x that mounts but its a POS..

Unfortunately c-mount teleconverters do not work. Lots of posts on it if you look around. I bought a few and had no luck. Your image circle will be very small.

I got a lot of c-mount lenses and ALL are vignetting more or less.
I dont like to use the zoom function because it reduces the focal lenght again by half so a
f1.1 12mm lens becomes a virtual 44mm lens...
I finally gave up and got the 20 mm pancake from panny...its got AF as well ;-)

I've newly acquired a Kodak 25mm f1.4.
Yes it vignettes, which makes it a funky character lens for me.
You might use it for an art film or a music video.
On the upside it has a great quality, pretty crisp in the ways I've used it so far, and rich colours.
For the money I'm very happy with it.

Those old Kodak Ektars are pretty amazing lenses. Optimized for shooting Kodachrome and Ektachrome reversal films. Very high color contrast for the period.

GH1 hacked firmware summer 2010 episode 1 and episode 2

I've just bought a no name CCTV C-mount 35mm 1.7 on Ebay for 30$, no vignetting but you have a "tilt shift effect" because of the lens' poor quality :)

This is the first episode of summer tests with the hack firmware. Shoot in Bordeaux, Hossegor (french atlantic west coast) and french countryside (Corrèze).

GH1 hacked firmware summer 2010 episode 2 "Essaouira Express"

This is the second episode of summer tests with the hacked firmware on my Panasonic GH1.
Shoot in Essaouira, a very nice fishing port surrounding by fortification in the Atlantic west coast of Morocco, world heritage for the UNESCO ; the place where Jimmy Hendricks wrote "Castles made of sand" in 1967 (I met souiris, people of Essaouira, who have met him).
I went one week there with my girl friend, a friend of mine and his son in the middle of july 2010. Filming in the smalls old streets, in the medina and the souk was such a pleasure for me, especially with it's particular light at the end of the day.
Bad fully the summer in Essaouira is windy and I didn't have the material to record the sound well, that's why I decide to do a "music video style".

Since I've hacked my GH1, two mains problems have appeared :
1- I can't edit anymore on Premiere CS5 (on a Mac Book Pro unibody end 2008 with 4 Go of RAM), there is too much bit rate for native editing, so I have to edit with FCP trough "Log and transfert" in Apple Pro Res
2- I can't shoot on 720P under 100 shutter speed because of awfull mud problems.... Wich is a problem when I want to have more light...

adapter for 35mm 1.7

@ seb33,

which adapter did you buy to use this lens? I bought the same one and an adapter from rainbowimaging but can't get it to do infinity focus... even tried shaving some metal on both and still no luck...

thx

Careful, some of the cmount lenses will hit the sensor if you shave too much off...

I think that some cmount lenses just won't work with any adapter. This happened to me with one of the lenses that I bought... in order to achieve infinity it would have to be very very close to the sensor so I gave up on it.

direct link : http://vimeo.com/16156795
downtown di:strict (GH1 + c-mount canon 25-100 1:1.8)

this is the second test with this c-mount canon 25-100 1:1.8 fast zoom lens. Sorry this is not an HD version, my week HD vimeo limitation is over :(
this is the fastest zoom I have ever use, 1:1.8 aperture is very great for us, videographer.
Bad fully it's heavy (1.2 kg), it's infinity focusing doesn't work at wide shot, it is vignetting, minimal focusing distance is 2,5m (98 inch) but it's rendering is nice.

720P
always open @ 1:1.8
100 ASA
duration 6mn13sec
music : silicon soul "california song" (1981)
thanks to rafa to be my model and cyril to let me use his zoom

Fujinon H6X12R... I tried to mimic what this guy did: http://www.componentgeek.com/archives/650/fuji-4-medium He's claiming he got the focus right without 2x extender. Not a problem with 1:1 cropping in GH2.

But I just can't get the silver c-mount plate out of the threaded black cap. It doesn't really matter as the blue tape trick seems not stable.

I removed the threaded black cap. The lens doesn't have the silver c-mount, either. Just bare naked. I placed c-mount adapter or it. The lens has the silver aluminum threaded ring on rear, but the ring is smaller than the most outer ring of c-mount adapter. Only if I can find a machinist who can make a custom cut threaded ring for fill-in to hold the lens and the adapter together... that would be a rock solid solution. 10 oz and F/1.2!!!! Only slightly taller than Nikkor 50mm 1.4 Ai-s with m43 adapter. The Canon C-mount or B4 mount looks cool but too bulky.

Otherwise this goes straight into ebay.
