C-Mount Crop Factor

So if I buy a 50mm Lense for a C-Mount, what's the crop factor for the GH1? I know full frame lenses are 2x...but i'm not sure of C-Mounts.

I guess I should have clarified. I'm looking at buying a 50mm C-Mount Prime lens. Now, my 50mm Nikon has a 100mm FOV.

Does the FOV change in a similar way when using a C-Mount lens?

Any 50mm lens will look exactly the same on any given camera body, in terms of field of view. It doesn't matter if the lens was designed for a full-frame still camera, a 6x7 medium-format, an 8x10 large format, a 16mm movie camera, whatever -- all 50mm lenses will have the exact same field of view when you mount them on any given camera.

The only question is one of coverage -- the smaller the format the lens was designed for, the smaller the circle of illumination will be. On a GH1, you typically get the full frame without vignetting with c-mount lenses at focal lengths of 35mm or above; there are a few wider lenses that can cover fully.

So -- said another way -- that 50mm c-mount lens will look exactly like your 50mm Nikon, in terms of FOV.

Curiously, what is drawing you towards a 50mm c-mount lens over a more typical 50mm lens designed for traditional 35mm SLRS?
