Yes, it was a GF1 from this same store. It wouldn't hack.

They sell a lot of stuff so they are likely to have the latest version.

I have purchased GH1 plus lenses from this supplier in Taiwan, very good ebayer..
I just ordered 2 x GH1 bodies, the owner told me that these are old stock V1.2 with Japanese menu, He has been putting in the V1.3 update to convert to english...
If you email him and request the camera with japanese V1.2 he will supply...
I will have mine here in 4-5 days so will report back... If you want to wait til then, hopefully there will be stock left...

Hello!
I'm planning to buy gh1 body plus 20mm pancake from the same user and he confired that it is hackable V 1.2. but I've been searching up and down every forum and website but couldn't find any accurate information about custom duties.
I know this thread is not the right place to discuss it but I couldn't miss someone else bought the same equipment. Is it possible to import gh1+20mm costing around 1000dollar from taiwan to us without customs holding it?
I have no idea about US custom regulations and one of my friend is on vacation there, so I thought she can bring it with her when she is turning back.
It is impossible to import one of these to where I live Thanks!
 
sorry, forgot to get back to you guys...
The GH1 stock is all v1.2 from japan, so if you get in quick you will have a hackable GH1, these are probably some of the last few cameras on the planet...
 
yes, the taiwan supplier will put minimum value on your import docket, just ask them..
I have purchased 8 Gh1 plus lenses and all arrived at my door via post with no import troubles at all...
 
All the stock from this supplier is Japanese made all with Japanese language standard V1.2...
Using the hack you can change all parameters required to suit your format, English, PAL-NSTC etc...
 
My Red one has arrived today...made in Japan. My others are made in China. It will be interesting to see if there's any noticeable image difference.
 
Skeptikal, it would be great to compare the low light banding between the old gh1 and new red gh1 , i have a feeling we will see a difference between the 2 ,thanks for any test you may do!
 
I didn't even understand if the "others" made in China are black bodies from same seller or old units from another supplier...

Ok.. I've gone blindly where no one will go... bought one of these Taiwan units in red....

I emailed him before about the Firmware Version and this was the reply...

Not sure what the 1.2 in Japanese Menu is all about though...
