Buying HVX 200

I can recommend EVS, Studio Exchange, Spec-Comm, Abel-Cine.

I agree with the others who said they do not recommend B&H.

BTW, it is not really important to be in the same city as the dealer you purchase from. Buying from an authorized dealer, you'll get a sealed box, same as I did when I walked in a store. You also save tax if you buy from another state (but you can also save tax if you're going to use this for business).

Good luck, it's a great camera.

Do not mean to thread jack. But you don't get charged tax if you use the equipment for business?? Interesting. You need o get a sales tax ID from the state?

Thanks everyone! I'll probably go with Abel-Cine or Spec-Comm. I also think I'll wait until after NAB just in case.

Javi, I also have the same question about the tax thing. If I have setup my own film company, which I have, would that mean that i can use my tax id to get a tax break when purchasing? Maybe cbln can elaborate?

Thanks again. Can't wait to pick this one up. I've been using the dvx exclusively for four years and cant wait to make the leap to HD. Thanks again guys!!

Sounds like you'll be in great hands, underthebus.

Anyone considering this should talk to their tax accountant first. But some of the professional camera houses are used to assisting customers purchasing for business who will declare it with your accountant and returns. Bottom line is be sure to talk to your tax person before you buy.
