Buying GH1 - Is this a legit site?

No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No.

No it isn't legit.

Their address is 337 E. 89th Street Brooklyn, N.Y. 11236 which is the same address held by many bait and switch fronts all run by the same scumballs over the years.

They are the same company behind Broadway Photo, the biggest racket ever.

As you can see by Broadway Photo's listing, Reseller Ratings recently detected and removed 50+ fraudulent 'very satisfied' reviews. I have no doubt that those decent reviews of Camera Kings are also crap.

A lot of people have been burned because they didn't want to wait for a reputable store to get stock in. Just be patient and don't worry about trying to save a few bucks. The retail cost of the GH1 is quite reasonable.

Why don't you just buy it from B & H Photo and be done with it?

Ben B... Not sure how I missed it, but I just saw what you said about B&H... No doubt they are legit. Do you know if they charge tax there?

Thanks... Even with next day air it's cheaper than the rest. Just saw for myself. Thanks Cavemandude!

I can always rely on this site!

ALWAYS TYPE "REVIEWS (COMPANY)" in GOOGLE

Only look at the negatives... it will give you a real good idea of what you are working with. Most positive reviews are posted by themselves.

Also check Full Compass. They are usually higher, but I've found that if you ask for a quote, sometimes they give you a better deal. Nice people, too. But again, you can always count on B&H. Adorama seems to be a stand-up vendor as well.

When it comes to mission-critical pieces of gear, I deal with a select few retailers…

B&H
Adorama
AbelCineTech
Precision Camera (my local shop)

I buy from B&H probably 99% of the time and have been buying all my gear from them for at least 10 years (remember the huge catalogs they used to send with each order? man.. those things musta cost a fortune to ship.. hehe). I got the GH1 from Amazon this time because it's a consumer cam and Amazon is pretty good for all my consumer gear so I gave them a shot. Plus they had a good price.
