Buying a 7D from America

Hi there,

I have been looking at the price of 7Ds in America and on amazon you can get them for about £800 cheaper then in London.

Luckily my mates mum is an air stewardess and has offered to pick one up for me when she is in America. Does anyone know what implications this has about waranty? Do all of these cameras come with a 12 month manufacturer's warranty? Do shops offer overseas warranties?

Thanks for your help.

£800 cheaper? where did you get that price from? On amazon.com/most US sites just for the body it works out about $1699 (£1020) if you route around in the uk/sites you could pick it up for about £1200/1300, so not a great saving if the warranty etc isn't covered.

I'd say it would act the same as any country, worst case sceanario you have to send it back to america (thats to say if you have any problems in the first place). I expect the Canon warranty would work anywhere, but the shop warranty may differ.
