Buying a 7D...Canon or nikon glass?

So I'm going to be picking up a 7D in the next few days and was wonder since I have zero lenses what the best route would be. Canon or nikon? as well as tam or sig?

any specific lenses? have around a 1,000 to spend on them at the moment.

Thanks

I'd get the 28-135 IS USM kit lens, the new Tamron 17-50 IS and either the EF 50mm 1.4 USM or the EF 28mm 1.8 for my low light work. If you don't count the kit lens (only $200 more than the body), your $1000 ought to get you the Tamron and one of the EF primes.

...and I'd never recommend you take the cheap route for the 7D. Buy it from a reputable place with lots of happy customers.

Again, IMO, the Tamron 17-50 2.8 Zoom with IS would be hard to beat. Actually, if you only got the body and the Tamron, you'd be pretty well set for all things video.

I have a full set of nikon ai lenses with adapters and I couldn't be happier. If nikon bring out a better DSLR I won't have to replace my lenses.

Hey Squig

What adapter do you use for your nikon lenses, about to bite the bullet and add some nikon glass to my eclectic canon/m42 lens collection. I want the least amount of play, I guess that goes without saying!

Cheers

I have a bunch of different adapters from china I bought off ebay ranging from $15-$65. There are 2 basic designs, the more expensive design has a little less play but I've found they all have some play. I put a bit of gaff on the lens side and now they're all rock solid but are hard to remove if you don't have an adapter for every lens. The better adapters are similar to the cinevate one in this thread- http://www.cinema5d.com/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=7362&p=64209#p64209
