T2i buying a 28mm lens, but which of the two places do I chose?

I am buying the Canon 28mm f/1.8 for my T2i. Since I have a shoot coming up in 2 weeks, I cannot wait any longer to find a used one. I have by the end of the week to buy one.

I found one on ebay for $514 (With shipping), which also incl. a cleaning kit & UV filter.

At B&H, its $512 (With shipping) for lens & a Hoya UV filter. (The only thing that's missing is the cleaning kit)

I'm not sure which to get. They are both pretty much the same price. The ebay one has a cleaning kit included, basically for $2 extra. But, is the UV filter as good as the Hoya one? Which one do I go for?

BH.

easily. way more reliable. They also have incredible customer service.

The filter offa ebay probably is a no-name also.

I have nothing but good to say about B&H. They have always done right by me. On the other hand, I have had some, how shall we say..... less than pleasant experiences buying off of eBay. The differences in cost in your above example is a no brainer. Go with B&H.

I was thinking of going with B&H also but, not overly excited. I might as well stick with them. The ebay person is apparently a "Top Seller" and has pos. reviews, plus it includes the cleaning kit. - Which is not bad.

Thanks!!

What's the most you'll pay for a used one? I know someone who's thinking of selling.

Below $500 w/ shipping? - just shooting an offer.

Do yourself a favor and save a couple bills – get the Sigma version for $350 off Amazon. I have it and have shot lots of video with it. Amazing lens. It's also a 1.8, built like a rock, and super cheap. You can sign up for the "Amazon Prime" trial (and immediately cancel it, but still use it for a month) and get free 2-day shipping, or overnight shipping for only $3.99 extra.
