Button is Stuck. Please Help

I am having trouble turning my XHA1 on as the little ring button is stuck whenever I turn it down to the film areas. The button comes out when I go to "Off" "Ext." and "VCR" but any filming it just stays in and lets the ring move around without touching the button.

Please help
 
No it isn't. The camera isn't turning on. The button is stuck when I move it down to the bottom options.
 
The button thing is normal. Your camera not turning on on the other hand... is your standby switch set to on?

I swear we tried everything and all it was was somebody just flicked that on. Thank you so much for your help!
