Busines card

Thats why you duplicate the text layer lol. You have a rasterized version for filters n stuff (go easy on them though, they are just tools, not the end product) and you have the unrasterized version in case you need to edit something.

what you think now

Better, alot better, but I dont like the colors - too bright and cheery. I would go more subdued. I like the orange circle thing. That works for me. I dont really care much for the border either. Capitalize Editor or uncap videographer. I'd get rid of the "special events such as" and just leave it as weddings, birthdays, anniversaries. Otherwise it looks good. Definitely an improvement.

better but I still think losing the blue and green and the texture for maybe uhh white... I know its boring but people will see your name first. Some light grays for the blocks might work too.

It's almost perfect!!!
I think if your add a little clip art, like a cute puppy or kitty cat, it will be finished.

I disagree, there won´t be many willing to do serious (well paid) business with a 16 year old.
That doesn´t mean there won´t be any giving a starting cameraman a chance, but just not for important stuff and not for much money.
Just my 2c of course...

Not true. This entirely depends on the person.

Morten, that is a very clean, professional card, great logo.

Como, you've been given excellent advice by everyone here. Your age will not hold you back from getting work as much as not listening will. Stop wasting time trying to tweak what is a bad design to begin with. You're best off with a plain, cheap card with minimal info as others have said. If you don't have a professionally designed card, it's better to impress potential clients with your reel or your willingness to do a good job. A bad card is worse than no card at all for someone in an artistic field.

Good luck, it's great to be getting such an early start.

So why don´t you share your knowledge on minor contract workers?
"Not true" is a harsh statement on someone sharing his PERSONAL experience.
I don´t know how the law is were you live, but I would have to make a contract with the 16 years old PARENTS when it comes to serious work and serious money...
Very few people will trust a 16year old to handle a several thousand dollar project.
If your talking about doing a film about the company of your junior league buddys`father and he is paying you a whooping 500$ for the 20min film, that is an other story.
If you have other proof of minors taking over the video industry in a significant amount of numbers, please share, otherwise why don´t you quit the esoteric vagueness of your assertion and give some considerable examples...?

I'm pretty sure there will be people trusting enough to let a 16 year old work on their project in a major role IF they have work to show for it. Like a small reel.

If the person acts as a professional, then I don't see why not. I'm not saying that I know of thousands of 16 year olds doing this, but I think it's stupid to say it doesn't happen at all. If you're going on age...I've seen some shithouse "big" jobs like you describe done by 30 year olds who can't frame shots to save their lives.

Age shouldn't be an issue. It should be how the person acts, and what kind of work they can do. Show you can be trusted, and you will get work.

I don't think his point was one of ability - but that legally you cannot enter into a contract with a 16 year old. I can see where people may be aprehensive about entering into a business arrangement with someone who legally can't be held accountable to any contract he may sign.

Who said "it doesn´t happen at all"? Maybe you were the only one? So who´s stupid?
You in the end?
You leave me confused...
Anyway,
even if there are some 16 year olds doing major jobs (still no proof of them...) they will be the exeption, rare and exotic - so what´s your point...?
Yes, a 16 year old COULD shoot the best selling movie of all times with a DVX, it just hasn´t been done yet :violin:?

Back to the topic at hand -

Como:

1) The background is still way too distracting
2) You have too many different and conflicting fonts going on, I find it hard to read.
3) You should probably have your actual name on there somewhere
4) You need to get a more professional email address. Even if you don't get your own domain name (which you should) you could at least register 'comeauproductions@WHATEVER.com)

Here's my quick take based solely on what you had - I'm still not a big fan of the layout or the logo - but this is just to show you what I'm talking about in terms of font matching and making the background less distracting:
