What about establishing a wireless cameral control protocol or functionality for vendors to rally behind? How about bluetooth or 802.11g? Perhaps if you could provide a slot or interface for adaptablitity (in the spirit of Red) then it could change with advancement with the industry. - PCMCIA or ExpressCard.
Supporting something like 802.11g would allow for some very advanced computer based control, provided flash rom built into the camera could translate those into commands into an internal camera language.
Via the same interface it may be possible to stream wireless audio, although that is already handled through separate wireless devices - is there a reason why a modular card slot with a reciever in it couldn't be used in a similar fashion but for non-standard transmitting devices like a computer or a wireless router? Maybe where this is all leading to is a secondary module that connects to Red and on it could be a PCMCIA slot or anything else. Perhaps this needs to be considered for Red 2.
Hope this helps
