Hello, I'm a student and i'm looking to buy a new DSLR camera.
I don't have that much money so it's going to have to cost me under $1000.

So far I've been looking at the d5000 and the t1i. I do some photography, but I need a camera that is going to good video and possibly manual control. Not to sure which to get and I don't want to waste my money on the wrong decision.

Thanks

umm i dont know about those.
ive looked at the t2i, 7d, and 5d

dont get those
id say.

Either a T2i, GH1, or 7d .

dont get a d5000 or t1i

t2i is so much better.

If you absolutely cannot afford to pay more than the cost of the d5000 or t1i, then get a Pentax K-x instead. It's a great camera and outperforms most of the cameras in it's price bracket, and alot of more expensive ones too. Then use the money you save to get a few extra lenses.

If you can afford the extra dollars, definitely go for the t2i. It's a massive improvement over the t1i for video. It gives you full manual control as well as 24p and 60p.

t2i for video. it's under $1000.

be ready to spend on lenses and accessories though.

the d5000's footage is very wobbly and has no manual control over video (i think).

the t1i's wobble isn't as bad, but no manual control either.

if you want a dslr that does video well for under $1,000, get the t2i.

the t2i has a mic input, too.
