Finally Dude. . . saw it. Must publicly acknowledge my need for new underwear.

Can't wait for the extended version.

PS I know where the boat is. . . I know where the boat is. (singsong voice)

Aaaaaaaah. Finally.

LA girl pulls her head out of the dens of iniquity long enough to come by and visit.

Hemichic is new to the boards and was my VO artiste extraordinaire on Bucketman.

As truly talented as she is, she is also technically challenged in that (a) it took her three days to download the right viewer for her computer even though she'd already downloaded all the movies six times and had four step-by-step walkthroughs on the viewer downloads; and (b) she failed to open my e-mail telling her to log on under various aliases singing the praises of Bucketman.

*sigh*

Anyway, nice job, kid.

And everyone here already knows about your underwear.

So go back inside Chez Jay's in Santa Monica and keep drinking.

Thank you.

Definitly roll off those highs for the DVD version.

Holy **** this is funny. Like everyone else, I was like ohhhhmmmmmyyyygod! Could they possibly lack the imagination to totally rip this thing off?

Then it hits you like a ton of bricks. Sooooooo goooood!

Seems to push SIMILO into a whole new strata.

"Star Wars" had "Hardware Wars"

"Play It Again Sam" made the perfect double feature followup for "Casablanca"

Now "Similo" has "Bucket Man"

You'd be a very lucky film maker indeed to have your film satirized as well as this bucket brigade did.

The perfect after dinner snack! Fetch me my bucket!!!

Again I retort, "Ha!" You know me only too well. I must still compliment you on your use of English in your missive. No one would ever guess it's your second language. And to write such a lovely script to go with the visuals... it's astounding.

I again echo the sentiments of fellow boarders here, "cudos dude." (I'm quoting no one, however.)

Just got through watching this again. It just gets better with every viewing. I am escpecially impressed with the dialogue, if you can call VO dialogue. :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG) Normally, I prefer a story that doesn't rely on VO to tell its story but in this case it's not only appropriate, it's essential. It is so quotable and I pick up something new on each viewing:

"I knew that you weren't just the usual tight pants, size XL codpiece and a cape."

I've tried to determine whether I would hold this in such high esteem had I not seen Similo. I think I would. I watched it the last time pretending I hadn't seen it before and that I had never seen Similo. I listened to the story as a parody on superhero/love stories. ****, yeah, it works on its own, too. I'm going to try and confirm this over the next couple of days by showing it to people who haven't seen Similo. My bet is they're going to find it a very funny take on the superhero theme. Thanks for this entry. It's going on my hall of fame disk.

I almost wonder if in the future we'll see a parody of Bucketman. Probably not.

You have a great dry humor. I look forward to seeing more of it. Props on top of props.

... VERY ENTERTAINING, ESPECIALLY for those of us who got to see SIMILO in the last festival. I also REALLY enjoyed your VO artist ... great voice.

Hey Norm.

Thanks for your comments. As I've told you before, I have a high regard for your opinion.

You enjoyed it? Awesome.

Thanks for taking the time to comment.

Cheers.

That was really funny. The fun really goes up with the iron and sex scenes.

But for me the best part is the x tapes on his eyes when he is dead, very cartoonish.

Steve,

Thanks for taking the time to comment. I had to laugh when I asked Kristine for her iron. She gave me an odd look, we shot the scene and then she looked at the storyboards. Her comment was "You PLANNED that?"

As for the "X's" over the eyes, I can't take credit for that. I think that was Kristine's idea (or maybe Mischa. Or Craig. Or the other Craig). Cartoonish was definitely what we wanted. Or Raphaelite. I think we were closer to cartoonish.

Where's the SIMILO guy? Is he gonna' check in on this one?

I'm in full agreement with Jack... I guess I'm a little slow because I got the same sinking feeling in my stomach, about to throw a brick through the monitor for the blatant rip-off... then on the opening credit part I started giggling... by the bedroom I was outright "gaffaw" laughing and choking on my own tongue... yeah, I was wishing that you and the SIMILO guy had some kind of online fight about his movie... as if you'd be saying, "HA! I could have done that!"... or something like that... it was killing me thinking of it like a cocky filmmaker setting out to prove he could out-similo SIMILO... kind of like Ed Wood deciding he could do a better Schindler's or something. ...

Thanks Matt.

Again, I loved Similo. Maybe some of the fever-posting about Similo planted a seed to do a parody. But if any of the Similo guys saw Bucketman, hopefully they'd laugh. And nobody ever parodies stuff that is shi*.

And speaking of fever-posting and planting seeds, I better get back to watching the fun on Jack Daniel Stanley's thread ...

FINALLY got around to watching this. This was hilarious. It's not to easy to hold me attention for six minutes and not only that but you had me laughing the whole time. The actress was great. I thought the music was awesome. Great homage/parody.

Hello,

is very funny. A great "scary movie" of SIMILO.
And the robot... the best thing of the movie is his acting! I've really enjoyed with him.

I'm very grateful for this tribute.

I guess this short would be the highest form of a compliment to you macgregor.
Next thing to come will be a similo fan flicks site.

Psssst!

HEY! Jarred!

You got anything like a ... DVXUser witness protection programme or something?

Huh? Do ya?

PM me will ya?

Good slam.
The bucket expressions were funny. The whole thing was fun.
If you don't know the back story, you can still have fun with it.
It kind of reminded me of an SNL skit.

Yeah, right Jack.

Like you've got the chops to turn out a Similo?

HA!:Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

But I have been watching with muted interest the postings on your thread, and I am getting that funny feeling again in the pit of my stomach ...

No ...

Wait ...

Forget about it. It was just gas.

also why is driving in hong kong at one point. he was driving near causeway bay!? and the squeeling pig noise made me laugh.

Dahopa - Don't worry about relocating. You're not the only one who has parodied another DVXfest film. Antomic did a small parody of my film, The Loner, which won last year, and then I parodied his film, The Morning After. BUT you are the first to have the guts to enter a DVX parody into a festival. LOL :) I hope McG is cool and appreciates the effort you put into this. It's REALLY good. I've watched it a few more times and even showed it to some of my Thai friends. They thought it was great even without seeing the film on which its based. I'll be selling copies of your movie in the local market. :)

spidey - I'm pretty sure the water boat scene was a joke. They were going for something outrageous to place in the background and thought it would be funny if they were on the water. Kind of like the movie, Airplane!, where anything goes. Speaking of, don't they have Cowboys with guns chasing their car in one scene in Airplane! ?

You know, now that I think about it, your film had a lot of similarities to "Airplane!". That's not a bad thing. Airplane! is brilliant. But the Bucketman kind of looks like the Autopilot n the movie and the lead actress does a lot of Voiceover and she also does the nasty with the autopilot. Remember, when he starts to deflate. :)
