broken XQD card

I have a question . . . why the hell are these cards so bashed up? Are you sending them through the laundry in your pocket or maybe constantly dropping them from great heights? Were they recovered from a terrible plane crash? I don't have a single card in my collection of cards that doesn't look pristine. You guys are tough on stuff. Remind me never to rent anything to you. :-)

I have no idea DJ. I have a dozen of the original 128GB cards from Jan 2015 and eleven are still pristine, and they have all been carefully rotated and used the same amount... or close to. Only one card has had a tiny piece come out of it. As I said before, I have no idea what brought this "chip" about, but it's of no consequence really as it's now fixed with the Super Glue/Baking Soda fix. Plus they've nor been used by anyone else, so 'twas either I or a faulty moulding to blame I guess.

Ha. I also take care of my stuff and don't rent it out or drop it from great heights. I think my fix makes mine look like it's been bashed - but it's just the non-contact end.
Oddly, my card with the plastic piece that came out - was the 2nd one I bought - not the first. Perhaps it's a spot that fingernails grab when taking out of slot?? But don't think so... I think a weak mold to begin with.

I occasionally have dropped mine, but certainly not very often or from any great height. I don't recall noticing that the chip happened after any kind of fall either. I do rent my stuff out though also not very often.
But if you don't send them through the laundry on a regular basis , how do you clean the files after a gig?
