Broken Mic

My mic has been loose on my A1 for a while, and through carelessness it just got worse and has nearly come off. Here are 4 pictures of it (sorry for the poor iPhone quality):

Any suggestions on how to get it back on? One of the cables (green/white) has pulled loose. I haven't even tried putting it back because I was afraid of making it worse.

I don't really ever use the mic, but you never know for an unexpected shoot-n-go situation.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

If the mic still work then you might want to epoxy or superglue it back on, if it doesn't work then might as well just snap it off.

Im in the same situation. Dont know how it came off and its barely hanging on. Sounds also gone which is a huge pitty as onboards a backup..I was considering taking it apart but stopped quickly. I hoe sombody has a fix for this which would be much appreciated. Thanks

Best thing to do (as a preventative, for use during storage and transportation) is to cut out a piece of closed cell foam to fit in between the lens and the microphone. That way any downward force on the thing will just go into the foam rather than breaking the microphone off.

Count me as another with a broken mic. Are there enough of us for a class action lawsuit? :)

I've actually taken mine apart and rebuilt the thing with plumber's epoxy, but that didn't last long. It really is a poor design using thin plastic, disappointing in such a high quality camera. I tend to use external microphones or board feeds, but this thing dangling on the front of my camera just looks trashy. I wish I could order a replacement mic.
