Brief look at my latest music vid...

NICE! No adapters, completley stock? Would love to know what settings, work flow, lighting, etc.

Thanks for putting it up briefly so we could get a brief glimpse.
Finally a DVXuser music video where the lighting technique actually sculpts the musician's faces properly and in a pleasing way. Really well-done photography all the way through, nice use of b/w, dof, very very tasteful shot selections. You will get more work for absolute sure from this.
 
This is exhibit "A" in the argument of - "It ain't the adapter - it's the guy behind the camera" that makes quality footage. I aspire for one quarter of your talent.:thumbup:

We shot at 24 frames for any normal speed footage, usuallly with high grain and at a shutter anywhere from 1/60 to just having the shutter off.

Slow motion was achieved using a shutter of 1/250 shooting at 60 frames.

Shooting the singer singing in slow motion was a variety of formats. Sometimes 36 frames at 1/60, sometimes 1/125. Sometimes 48 frames at 1/125. It just depended on what we were trying to accomplish.

The blade runner-esque digital effect was a combination of the FCP filter "Overdrive", an Eight-Point garbage matte, and masking some Futura text over it. Tedious, but relatively easy.

All outdoor stuff was shot using natural sunlight. We tried to shoot on overcast days, but even the sunny stuff (homeless guys) turned out to our advantage.

Yeah, all the performance footage was shot in the old, incomplete Intel building off 5th Street. 70% of our budget was to secure that locale. It was worth it, because we were the last people to film inside the building before they began to slowly take it apart and tear it down. It'll be in the Austin Historical archives apparentley.
 
Great Great job. I love the video and really like the song too. Very catchy. I showed everyone at my work and they though you did an excellent job as well. Keep up the awesome work, and I look forward to seeing more!
 
Really good video. Nicely executed. But.... the smear from the performace lights is so ugly. It almost works as a feature of the shot but a couple of times it forms that hard line running right through the shot. I hate that smear. (obviously a gripe about the camera, not your work.)

Are you referring to the vertical lining of the back lights in the performance part of the video?
