Breaking Bad

The entire "Gus gifting the tequila" scene, from start to finish, was one of the most amazing tension building scenes I have seen in quite some time on cable tv. The fact that it had many years worth of backstory to it, made the payoff an absolute knockout. It was clever, it was haunting and it was action packed. This season of BB wasextremely well written.

That was a tremendous scene. Great payoff from the back-story there.

I love how they go back and forth in time on occasion. The writers have certainly thought things through.

terrific tension per usual, specifically the final minutes of the show.
one half season left after next week's season finale.

Spoilers!!!

So... Why did Gus go back? Did he just have a bad feeling? Or was it something Jesse said?
For me it's the latter, which then resulted in a bad feeling after he put it together.

yeah he just put it together in his head, and he may have also seen a sun flare from the binoculars.
he's just too precise and careful. always several steps ahead.

Half season left? Actually, season 5, aka the final season, is supposed to have 16 episodes, so it's actually 3 episodes longer than a normal BB season. Unless I'm mis-reading your post...

Usually when I watch movies or shows that I enjoy I get inspired. With Breaking Bad I just get crushed every time I watch it. All I can think is "I will never be able to make something this great". Anyone else get that?

I find it inspiring.

Do I think, "Damn! This is so beyond my capabilities." ?
Sure. The story, acting, cinematography, etc... It's amazing.

It pushes me to be better though, for sure. So that's inspiring.

played out so much better than some other shows i've been watching that have become crap (to me) i.e. "True Blood".

To me, he had all the info he needed. put it together on his way out. Jesse's wince when he touched him, the fact that Jesse knew it was poison (if he knew it was poison, then he would have known what it was from, which means, he would likely have already been to see Walt). The "if he wants to talk to me, then he can come *here* and talk to me", etc. So, now, his main men are there, and no one is watching walt. and, then... he spotted walt while scanning the buildings around the parking garage.

I just watched this show from season one starting a few weeks ago... it's been pretty cathartic for me, believe it or not. really enjoying it. ready for the season finale, and hoping for a good final season now that I"m invested :)

I was thinking the exact same thing. Although I don't think he spotted Walt. They could have had a real cool moment there ala Rear Window if he had.
Maybe we'll find out on Sunday?

Can't wait!

I don't think I still have it on the PVR. I'll have to check.
I know he looked in his general direction but I never got a real sense that he saw him. Wouldn't he have cleared out of there a little faster if he did? Or at least sent one of his guys to handle it?

Guess we'll know by what he does next. Although I'm sure he knows that Walt and Jesse have put it all together. He doesnt need to see Walt to know that, Jesse screwed it up. Fantastic show. Just love it.

I'm not doing anything in the filmmaking/entertainment industry, so as far as something like Breaking Bad goes, I'm just sitting back and enjoying the ride. The writing and character development are so amazing I don't know what to say. Maybe, "Where do they come up with this s**t????" I thought the shootout scene in the parking lot with Hank was pretty badass. But they outdid themselves this year with the tequila poisoning scene. How sick was that????? :kali:

It honestly bugs me that the masses aren't hip to this show. I've got no one to talk to about it aside from my wife….and you guys.

But I'll 2nd what MAH says, I find it inspiring.

As for this season, I felt like that episode a few weeks ago that ended with Walt crying/laughing under his house could have been "the cliffhanger". Right? But we got two more episodes, including tonight. Should be a good one!

Amazing finale! Wow.

After watching it I'm positive Gus never saw Walt. He just pieced it together.

I would say more but I don't want to spoil anything for you guys.

Incredible show.

SPOILERSSSSSSSSS

So the finale was super awesome. I finally feel like the tension of the entire season lifted. I was quite afraid they would leave it at a cliff hanger and I'd go insane for a year.

Interesting clip I saw. Didn't realize until someone posted this elsewhere, but at the very beginning of last week's episode, when Walt is spinning the gun on the table, on the third spin the gun points, then the camera focuses, on the "Lily of the Valley". Very cool that they reference the item before we even realized what purpose it would hold.

EDIT: Also interesting...
"In the Bible, the Lily of the Valley is a symbol of the Second Coming, and the beginning of a better world."
