Brand New Camera - Battery Won't Charge

I just got my DVX100B two weeks ago, and I reported this problem to the company I purchased it from immediately after I realized the problem, but they aren't doing anything for me. It seems my battery won't charge. The green "charging" light doesn't turn on when the battery is in place, I'll leave it on over night and it just doesn't charge. For the time being I'm using a giant portable power cell I picked up from canadian tire, but it is slightly cumbersome. Has anybody else had this problem with the DVX battery charger? Any other suggestions? I can't send the charger in for repairs because we use the camera every day, and the only way we can power the cam is by the AC adapter, which uses the charger. I'm stumped!
 
See if you can find someone with a DVX setup in your area, and see if you cna use their charger to test it out.
 
great idea, i don't think i can find any (i live in a eastern canadian town of 10 thousand) but i'll keep my eyes peeled and my ear to the ground.
 
You are aware that you can not power the camera, while charging. Did you pull the camera cord out?
 
oh of course, i'm the kind of guy who reads the manual front to back before turning their new toy on. actually i had the manual read and memorized two years before actually getting the camera, how geek is that... but yes, i was aware of this.
 
Do you have more than one battery? OEM Panasonic or generics? There is a chance that the battery contacts do not engage, some generic batteries have their contacts a bit too deep in...
 
Had the exact same thing happen. Problem with charger.

I bought the camera from B&h. Charger died 1 month after. Due to B&h warranty return, they had to have the ENTIRE camera back to swap the charger out.

Rep actually suggested order OEM charger from there site ($160!) and return the bad one that was included with the camera.

I did.

Found another on ebay for $20 to use as a spare.
