Bower mirror lenses on GH1, anybody ?

Hi,

Has anyone played with one of those monster-lenses on the GH1 with Nikon mount, wich would actually double the focal length ?!

There are cheap 800mm F8 lenses on ebay with 2x teleconverter which makes them 1600mm and doubled by the Nikon mount on the GH1, we're talking about 3200mm F8 .........:Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

That should be something fantastic for shooting wildlife, etc ...

please share experiece and footage !

Wow that'd be fun... hunting for photos like a sniper hunts for his next target... I'd love to go on a wildlife shoot one day, with a lens like that.
 
Damn I googled for the 800mm lens and it's actually pretty small compared to what the pros are using at the nature park next to my home. Maybe they have more fstops but for daylight it should be good.

I'm sure it's better not to shoot handheld though, especially for video
 
Mirror lenses, because of their light weight yet long focal length, are damn susceptible to vibrations. I hope you have a good support setup.

Also, because of the use of mirror surfaces, expect lower contrast. Oh, and don't forget the doughnut bokeh!
