GH2 Bought this Proskar, can someone tell me if it's in good condition?

So I won this offer for a Proskar 16A anamorphic lens. I'm suppose to pay $175 shipped so it's pretty cheap, but I don't want to put money down until I know it will work even though the seller says it's in working condition.

If it was an eBay auction then you are obliged to take it. If you then find it's not as advertised, you put in a claim. But the only way to tell if it works, is if you get it into your hands, look at it, and try it out.

You're not the first to feel some trepidation at buying older glass. You could always re-list it if you don't like it. $175 is not that much in the greater scheme of things. At worst put it down to experience.

On the other hand you may have a gem.....

It looks like its in good enough condition. If the focus is smooth and there's no fungus, then it should be alright. I don't have experience with that lens, but at 175 it doesn't seem too bad. You won the auction, now it's time to pay for it. If its not your cup of tea, then put it back up on eBay.

As Stoneinapond says, if it's an Ebay auction your bid is a contract. You should have made sure of its condition BEFORE making a bid.
