Well here's the problem with Bonds. He asked for this. After 20 years of being an a*$#f*uck to all the media and all his teammates, the first moment he finds himself truly in trouble and surprise surprise, he has no friends to turn to. Whether he's guilty or innocent, all these people that he was so cruel to over the years are getting their revenge. Had he paid them more respect, had he gone out of his way to be just a *little* nicer... he might've been able to get out of this. But people have been waiting for this moment for a long time. Same with guys like Sammy Sosa and Kareem-Abdul Jabbar (wants a head coaching job but no one will give him the time of day cause of what a dick he was). You guys were jerks, nobody's coming to your aid. If this isn't a ringing endorsement for being a kind person, I don't know what is. Sooner or later, it's going to catch up with you.
Oh, half the blame goes to Selig for this, for knowing baseball was juiced for 15 years and not doing a thing about it. It's funny, however, how one day ESPN just decided to make an issue out of it. It's like "Hmm, there's not much in the news right now. Baseball players have been taking steroids. Why don't we report on that." I remember watching baseball games 10 years ago and thinking, "Yeah, but all these guys are cheating. Why isn't anybody doing anything about it?" ESPN should be ashamed of itself. They knew too and only brought it up to drum up ratings for Sportscenter.
Everybody's guilty!
