Bonds on Bonds

Blaine

Mr. Hollywood
Bonds on Bonds on ESPN. Talk about a show that makes me want to puke. There is no way in hell I'm going to buy into this piece of horse ****. :furious3:

So now that all the home run hitters are falling when do all the Super Bowl ring wearers start getting the call? Then let's move on to the next sport...

The juice is part of the game and it looks like most people don't care. They just want their Game.

Sad reality.

I guess the only way Bonds would agree to do the show was for them to pay him a ton of money and give him final cut authorization. What a prick.

I'm going to watch it. Put up all the asteriks you want. He's still the best player in the MLB, hands down. I think he's bagged 8 gold gloves and he's batting a .300 life avg, 708 aside. He's also the smartest batter to ever play the game. I'm in awe every time he's up to bat, and I've never seen anyone with a better eye.

Let the bashing floodgates open, I asked for it I guess, but I'll never be convinced otherwise.

He may be all those good things, but his legacy is tainted and he will be a pariah on the scale of Pete Rose in 5 years.

Poor Pete Rose. There is someone truley passionate about the sport. That guy was baseball. And he blew it. That hurt.

I don't see Bonds being passionate about baseball. It's status, money, fame, etc.. for him. But there's no passion.

Pete Rose may be passionate, but he has always put himself before others which can make it hard to pity him either.

Pete Rose's tarnished legacy will pale in comparison to Bonds' when all is said and done. I am in the camp that agrees with Rose's Hall of Fame exclusion, but at least his athletic achievements were his own.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again...

To hell with the * that was so unjustly given to poor Maris; any record set by Bonds needs a big, fat -right through the middle of it!

I have to agree with every word said.

 and a hot dog.

And here you can see what is happening to Bonds physically from all the juice he is taking:

I ain't exactally a fan of either one, but it makes me edgy to hear people giving Pete Rose a pass. Sure Bonds and Rose's offenses are not the same, it's apples and oranges. But both players' hands are very, very dirty.

Pete Rose was given every opportunity to take responsibility and try and alleviate some of the damage he did to the sport. He continues to fail that litnus test to this day.

I admire Rose's guts and spectacular hustle. I admire Bonds amazing ability and smart hitting skills. They probably have no peers in those categories. But they both also deserve no place of honor in Baseball. Gambling and Steriods. Seems funny to to argue which one is less bad.:(

Here's an interesting article written about Bonds:

http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news?slug=cnnsi-giantdistractio&prov=cnnsi&type=lgns

A quote from that article:

"Apparently Bonds prefers to save any meaningful expression for his eponymous ESPN show, an embarrassment for the journalists with any shred of integrity who work at the network. Make no mistake, the show is an attempt by Bonds to spin his notorious reputation while ESPN pays the freight. He is the aggrieved one, he wants you to believe. A nice family guy who flosses his teeth and loves puppies and sunset walks on the beach. ESPN turns over its money and airspace to this. Major League Baseball turns over exclusive access to Bonds' ubiquitous camera crew. The Giants get editorial protection, reviewing how scenes are presented before they are aired."
