so this is the combination.. you need a 72mm-82 or 83mm stepup ring, then the formatt 86mm clamp down adapter. This gives no vignetting and enough room for the filters. I just wanna put it through the ringer to make sure it actually dependable.

Great news Jarred! Thanks for letting us know. Now just another silly question. If I have a round threaded 72'' UV filter, I will have to take it off in order to use the mattebox, right?

Excellent news! I assume this fits the original DVX100, not just the 100A, right? I'm now seriously considering getting this mattebox. The photos look great, and the price even better. Thanks for all the testing!

Thanks Jarred! Thanks for sticking with this! Where can we get the ring & adapter? Will you be selling it here and if so, how soon? Also, you had mentioned in a previous post about selling the formatt filters online here as well. Is that still a go too? I'm anxious! :D

I swear its cursed... Ive finally got all the parts together but my distributor is MIA (probally on vacation) Maybe by Christmas you guys can actually buy one, however of course you can goto BH and get it for $20 more than our special deal, which may be worth the waiting.. and waiting.. and waiting.

where could one with an itchy trigger finger pick up the step up ring and clamp on adapter?

After calling every vendor that I could think of that might carry the 85mm clamp-on adapter, including Bogen, the only place I've found that carries it is Formatt in the U.K. with a whopping $100 U.S. price tag including shipping. I purchased a 72mm to 82mm (85mm outside diameter) conical adapter from Cavision and hopefully this work with the 85mm clamp-on adapter like Jarred describes.

Wish I could wait Jared, you've done so much work, but I'm gonna need a box next week so I'm gonna have to call B and H. My question is, if I just order the matte box as listed on their web site, will it come with a 72 mm mount, or is there something else additional I need to order to attach the box to the camera. Sorry if this is obviously silly question, but this is my first time out of the box, so to speak, in getting a matte box.
