It is a public park, there is admission around $10, and they don't give you any grief for shooting there. The town is out in the middle of nowhere 12 miles from 395 [closest paved road]. They have a gate on the dirt road in and Park Rangers sweep the town to make sure everyone has left. That's not to say that people who really want to be there after hours couldn't get in but it would be a fair amount of work and if they caught you they'd probably prosecute you for trespassing. The thought certainly crossed my mind, it was great light about an hour after we left.
I think the biggest restriction on Vimeo is that it limits your stream to 5Mbs/sec. The old Apple TV setting in Compressor is 1280x720 @ 5Mbs and that works great. There's a new setting for the iPhone 4 and iPad but that increases the bit rate to 14Mbs. The closer you get your encode to what Vimeo does the better the quality seems to be.
