bmx, dvx, a day, fun.

Not sure what kind of feedback you're looking for. I noticed the "riding on the brick wall" trick was done four times. It's a cool trick, but in a one minute clip it really stood out as repetitive (to me at least.) Not downgrading your work at all. Can't really say anything about the way you shot. Looks great with some hard to achieve shots.

i liked it alot. flowed pressy nice, how did u get ur pictures sooo soft? did u just focus out on the shots a little?

the exporting was fairly simple, just chose the quicktime high broadband export and changed the data rate to 1400 kb/s i think? its kinda high but it looks real nice.

most of the softness was done post using the natress plugins and magic bullet.

and the brick wall stuff, i guess to someone outside of the bmx world they would just see someone riding a wall, but all 4 times something completely different happened. i usually wouldnt put that many clips from the same spot, but the trick were all pretty good so i couldnt' leave them out.

this was probably the last thing i'll shoot dvx wise, i'm parting with my cam so its kinda a kiss it goodbye.

really liked this dude, what settings were you using? cool angles too and I liked the graphics; simple but effective

i dont have my cam with me right now so i dont know exacts, but it was 30p, probably at 1/250th, thats what i usually shoot bmx with. master ped was probably around -3. post wise it was natress and magic bullet.

i'm working slowly towards another edit right now, gonna be a lot longer.

thanks for the kind words.

Excellent Trailer, I loved every part of it. Great riding, too.

Im new to this forum and editing but I'm involved in the wakeworld quite a bit. (Wakeboarding/Wakeskating). So this is definitely the style I like and strive to shoot for. Is that quick flash cross between shots a stock effect? It's simple but it works great and I love it. I use FCP, any help on achieving this?

manglerBMX, or anyone else.

I just got a dvx100b and Final Cut Pro. Before I was using a basic single chip Sony, and Adobe Premiere pro for editing. I am having trouble with learning the camera and software. If you have any suggestions I would really appreciate it. Today I filmed these 5 tricks and gave a quick shot at editing it. Also, how can I export at a better quality. The file size was 50 megabytes, but it still looks like crap. Thanks,

Dave from negsrc had me watch this the other day at work... bmx guys are destroying skate guys in NC as far as media coverage goes... Keep up the good work.

whoa, look at laclair bustin up on dvxuser. thanks for the comments man, kind of an honor coming from you.

with my fulltime job i dont really get to travel as much as i used to so i just film a lot with my nc peeps and try and make the best of it, so i guess it works. its fun so thats all that matters.

luke, just keep at it, and read dvxuser a lot, and skateperception of course, haha. i've self taught most of my editing skills and picked up other stuff along the way. did you get the dvx book with your cam? if you didn't i strongly suggest picking it up and reading it cover to cover. and then just keep filming and practicing.

Yeah, I got the book, and have read it, lots of good stuff in there, and the authors explain it well. I did not however get the manual.

it's not an honor, you're more talented than I am. After years of hassleblading i'm going to get back into video, so much awesome stuff has came out in the last 2 years to resist. So hopefully around tax return time I'll have a hvx in my hands, the letus extreme is looking awfully tempting too.

Although we're not done with SP right now I think we're going to push forward and copy the same stuff over to bmxperception since theres a lot of talented dudes that really have nowhere to go without being pestered by skateboarders. So if you wanted to head up admin stuff over there (forum admin, content management with photos and videos) then let me know and I could fill you in on more details.
