Ha! I didn't even think of that possibility. No, I don't think this is at all intentional. Much more likely an oversight. Not surprising though. We have been waiting on the promised mobile theme for years now ;)
 
DNS updates take up to 24 hours to propogate. If someone is able to hit the site via the domain, they could open a console window and type 'ping bmcuser.com', report the IP addr back to us here and you can all host file it. Or you can wait :)

It's not exactly a secret. It is, and has been publicly available information. Kind of difficult for it to be a secret when all of our "user" domain names are registered publicly under Jarred's and Landmine's name. The company name is in the footer of all of our sites.

Scarletuser shut down b/c when RED changed what Scarlet was going to become, scarletuser became kind of redundant, and the traffic was not really sustainable at that point. It was made to be a read-only archive when we officially closed it to new posts and registrations. As timing would have it, blackmagic announced a camera that seemed to fill the space that scarletuser was meant for, so along came bmcuser.

Once upon a time, Jarred started a forum called DVXuser.com. Eventually, instead of just being a single forum for a single camera, it expanded. The company became known as Landmine Media, Inc. Jarred is the co-owner (and founder) of Landmine... *LAND*mine. REDuser started its days as a sub-forum on dvxuser. Then, it became its own forum. Then scarletuser came along. Then bmcuser.

RED does NOT own any of the forums. It is our (Landmine's) copyrights in the footer of all of the sites. Each forum serves a different purpose, and who owns them has always been publicly available info. It's not like the domain name owners are hidden behind private registration. If Jarred didn't want Landmine to have a bmcuser forum, it would never have been created (by us) in the first place :)

Anywho... the actual issue is that the domain name failed to auto-renew, and with NAB-week madness, it was also bad timing. But, it has been taken care of, and all is returning to normal. It may take some time for it to show back up for everyone as we are just waiting for the nameservers to fully reset.

The site just came back up for me in the last 5 minutes (EDIT: I just lost it again. DOUBLE EDIT: just came back for me again). Just give it a little time, and all will be well again.

well, pinging "bmPuser" wouldn't do you much good in this case :)

Just give it a little time, Frank. Should be back to normal soon. For me, it came back, went away, and came back in the span of 15 minutes on my desktop.

It's still not properly resolving on my laptop, and they are both on the same network (one hard-wired, the other wifi). On my cell phone, it is working both over wifi, and 4g... actually, just came back up on my laptop as well.
 
I just fixed it on my desktop by manually changing the DNS settings to google's servers/ (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4)
