Blood, Guts, Explosions, and Gore

what sucks is that the actor has to go through some pain unless he wears something under what he's already wearing, like tin foil. mabey it will make good impact sound too.

Tin foil won't do jack to lessen the impact of a paintball.

If you are using paintballs (which most likly won't look so good on their own (they will look like paintballs..)) and your actors don't want welts at the end of the day (wimps:embarasse ) then have them wear some foamcore under their outer layer, this will take all the force out of a paintball.

You can find the stuff most places where art & crafts and stationary is sold. - It's also known as "foamcore posterboard"

true, but i'd use tin to stop some of the pain. the sting would probably bring on good acting. lol

for good explosions you could use gas which is very dangerous. it could still be used mabey for background explosions. or you could buy this one program that you can do all these awesome effects like cutting peoples' heads of and it includes explosions...but i forget what its called. whenever i remember it i'll send it to you. for now, check out this website (provided to you buy the link below). they filled up a melon full of gas (3-4 cups of gas). the awesome part is how much fire they get out of the explosion. remember: highly dangerous! - only use for back ground explosions! the idiot's shoe catches on fire, lol.

I just bought some of this at $4-$7 a sheet for a 12" X 30" sheets of varying thickness for my sci fi. It was pricey because I'm using it for a danaged wall effect.

D'oh! I found the same stuff yesterday at home depot bundled in packs of 8 for $7!

Just a question...
What type of film are you doing?

Guns, breaking glass, blood and gore?
Please elaborate.

Im doing a film about an underground spec ops team called Unit 0. Its going to be really good i hope, i also need help on one other thing. I made candy glass and im throwing a hollowed out grenade through it but i need something to fake the explosion, i dont need fire, just a flash of light and lots of smoke, any ideas on how to do this? Thanks again!

Get a brighter strobe then also add some powder to your fire extinguisher blast, it give some nice little projectiles coming out. You can also use a smoke machine.
