Other: BlackMagic Cinema camera!!!! 2.5k for 3k...

For John,

Footage request: Lowlight. Street lamps. Dark interiors. Just to get a sense of how sensitive the sensor is at night. everything else looks great to me. Especially resolved detail.

Also, can you please be the tester for future camera technology? Your lack of a sensational approach to delivering information first hand makes me want this camera that much more.

Whos ordering where?

Maybe you haven´t seen this Kholi, but in the Video I posted a few sites ago that guy from BM said native sensitivity is 800iso - that would be more than the FS100.
John said that they are aiming at this number (I would be happy with 500) but need better sensor calibrating.
So it does not make much sense to do low-light tests with John`s prototype.

Okay great! You're right. No point in doing those right now. They'll just misrepresent the camera.
Ill take 500 because it means easier daylight shooting.

But getting it to native 800 would be great.

Well Frank, we can always give a discount. And give to Neat Video a try ; ) I second Kholi's request too.

I think the raw output quality really depends on the post processing that is applied after capture. Were you seeing the raw output or something that had a LUT applied to it? Kind of hard for me to judge a camera's image quality until I have a file to push in post but the bondi example vids look pretty good to me.

You have a point there. I did not see any adjustments on the screen for viewing a lut vs raw signal.

I'll go back and check today.

Kholi, take a look on my last entry. I bet a Neat Video combo will do wonderful footage to come :-)

I believe there is also a video and cinema lut, maybe it was on video. I'd imagine they are still tweakin that aspect like everything else, but Johns stills and video clearly exhibit much more than 9 stops.

Yeah not to worrie about it. It can't be worse than gh2 hack, extended DR means it only gets better. As long as Ivan get away with using minimalist lighting I'm good. Talkin kino 44s and similar.

If 13-stops is accurate is 16x that mark : D

They also said it comes with a 400ISO setting.
I don´t really believe in negative gain, but I would be happy, to be wrong.

Me either. I'd love to see what they're implementing here, daylight without a 10ton is as important as lowlight without an arri sun. XD

Someone please ask if there's a possibility of 60 at all even paid for update.

Oh and ask them to add alarm clock mode. This thing will look great sleeping on my desk with a huge time display.

"what time is it?"

"oh, its time to shoot it up"

DR is everything in cinema and in this camera ;) As Rick said, you're only paying US $250. That is the best price I've ever seen for any product ever! And this is a professional cinema camera : D

This cam looks great! A few things I would like to see:

48 or 60p
external battery
4/3 or m4/3 mount
hdmi out (Thunderbolt to hdmi adapter?)

The lack of those are really the only thing that bothers me at this point.

Lots of griping over a camera that blows away Canon's new $15K HDSLR that Shane Hulbert is having orgasms about -- at 1/5th the price! Yes RAW is that big a deal, and yes 12 bit vs. 8 bit, and yes uncompressed, and hell yes to 13.5 stops of latitutde. Canon can have its 4K with its 2003 image compression. I'll take 5 of these instead.
