Other: BlackMagic Cinema camera!!!! 2.5k for 3k...

Yes, please. Perfect ratio 1.18:1 (2592 x 2192) for 2X anamorphic (suddenly it's 5K). I wonder if sensor is capable of 24fps in full un-cropped square mode. Or is it more like 17fps... But they could do smaller near-square AOI then - for higher fps.

sorry, this is from halfway through the thread, but on the topic of anamorphics: don't most anamorphic lenses require a 50mm+ mounting lens to not vignette? With the 2.3x crop on this sensor, doesn't that mean the widest you could shoot is over 100mm?

Yes. I've got time on the weekend. I'll try to do something. What do we want to see ?

Rolling shutter test over a CMOS sensor as usual (Pedro Guimarães tweeted something negative about), as well, available light night shots, checking extreme moiré pattern where aliasing might be present going with an higher native resolution and skin tones.

Thanks John for your time and offer. Much appreciated (E :-)

Meaning?

Are you referring to graded pre-recorded footage, or live RAW-to-SDI? Either one of which could be set up badly/inappropriately or from prototype camera hardware/firmware. Not doubting what you saw, but some qualifications of your comments would be welcome.

Sorry, I meant live on the monitors they had there.

Compared to similarly-priced cameras? Can you put your comments in context?

Compared to pretty much every current Dslr being shown,

Of course none of the dslrs were recording to ssd in .dng format either.

Being an AF100 and EF glass owner, the 13stops (if truly 13) has me almost ready to pre-order (after just hearing of this an hour ago).
However,
Lack of 60fps,
Lack of WFM
Lack of built-in ND filters
Makes me hesitate.

Workflow is the deal with this camera, and image quality at first look is more than good enough. Out of the box I can shoot in ProRes, and load directly into my 6 year old Mac G5 running Final Cut studio 2. That is huge, same on the Avid/PC side. There are a lot of people running perfectly good post suites, that are not state of the art, but work day in and day out. AVCHD/h-264 requires a transcode step for a lot of users. Sure there are native options, but that involves laying out for more stuff, not in the cards for everyone. I don't need raw today, but I'm glad it's there. I don't have a system capable of davinci, but when the budget is there it is icing on the cake. ProRes Log is good enough for most people shooting the F3(to an external recorder that costs nearly as much as this), that is huge. If this doesn't force Sony's Hand to include at least xdcam 50 422 internally on the F3, or the next one in that class, something is seriously wrong.

On the bmd site there is a where to buy option. I emailed the nearest to me in uk. They phoned this morning and I paid £500 deposit. Imagine same from USA.

In short, on one hand, DOF should be reduced a lot - don't be mislead by some of the long lens shots in the samples. On the other hand, we already hear they are having some trouble with noise in low light situations.

We are getting some things that we need, but let's not forget about what we got in the past. At least in my case, I think I need a bigger sensor. Small DOF and low light performance are very important to me. I do want to love this camera because it could be the perfect upgrade from my T2i without jumping to the 5k price range. But that small sensor is really annoying me!

Please do correct me if i'm wrong, I wish I am.
The sensor size is what it is. It doesn't need to be bigger or smaller. In the past, many cinematographers worked hard as hell to get greater DOF, especially when shooting with high-speed primes at night, where DOF could be a couple of inches. The sensor is large enough to achieve relatively shallow DOF when using a wide aperture and a somewhat longer lens. The rest is up to you. But if you must always have razor-thin DOF, this camera may not be for you.

Me? I love cameras. My 7D is both a blessing and a curse but I love to work with it now. I like the APS-C crop. I bought some APS-C lenses. I'm making movies.

Me? I don't have a lot of money. This camera would be a big upgrade for me. I hope it works out and I can't wait to see what's coming out next.
