Anyone have any experience with it with an A7s/II? I'm debating between that and a ninja blade, I'm not too concerned about 4K recording, its primary use will be as a monitor for a Ronin, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to buy a recorder/monitor since I need an monitor to begin with.

So the Atomos is probably the better decision right now.
It does trigger and it does do timecode. The bigger issue is it puts out a interlaced signal from Sony cameras. The fault being with Sony

Interesting, because I have tested the BMVA with a Sony RX100iii at 1080/60p, and it records ProRes at 60p in my testing.
I trust that the A7s ii would be similarly configured, but do not have one to test as yet.
In addition, this video indicates that the output to the BMVA is progressive from the A7s ii:

That's odd but I have seen it in several different reviews that it lacks 3:2 pulldown.
