7D Black Magic Hyperdeck Shuttle and 7D

I am looking at getting the Hyperdeck Shuttle and using it with my Canon 7D. Is anyone doing this or have any suggestions on using the HDMI into a recorder?

You should check the output resolution for the HDMI on a 7D. I think it's for field monitors and only outputs lower resolution.

The 7d outputs 1080.

The bigger issue is that there isn't a way to disable the on-screen focus box, so.you are hosed.

it only output 1080i and that is useless... seeing as how the 180 that our camera outputs isnt actually 1080 at all

Yep. It CAN be done....and it BETTER be done the next cycle (next batch of DSLRs)....or they are INTENTIONALLY leaving it out. As you can see....this is an HX9 COMPACT CAMERA that can do clean HDMI out! Maybe there is hope? Cheers!
