T2i black frames with silent picture Ml function (timelapse)

hello,
i tried yesterday a little timelapse test with the 7 june ml build, with these settings : silent picture (simple), 1sec for the intervallometer, video mode (so with live preview on).
everything went fine except a warning heat icon at the end of the timelapse.

made with 17-55 (manual focus), sdhc class 6.

the problem is that after converting the 422 files, i've got a lots of black frames, approximately 2700 frames over the 4500 total frames, the rest is fine but finally i can't use it.

have i made a mistake with the settings ? or there is some options in ML which i have to disable ?

can someone describes me the process to make a usefull timelapse with silent picture please ?

thanks
Olivier

Are the black frames at the end of the timelapse? It could be some power management which stops the sensor. Can you send me a few frames for troubleshooting?

hi A1ex, the black frames are totally aleatory. and no sorry, i don't have any frames, i've deleted them.
my battery was full.

i will try another one this afternoon with the same settings, and i'll post frames here if it can be usefull.

Thanks for responding

This problem could also cause Magic Zoom to become black, since these two functions use the same image buffer. I did not see this happening on my camera, but if you notice it, please let me know.

I have some experimental code which is able to playback 422 files in the camera, and preview the silent picture after taking it. If you can compile yourself Magic Lantern, I can give you the patch; otherwise, you will have to wait, as I'm pretty busy in this period.

thanks, but i don't know how to compile ML by myself.
take your time, i can wait till you implement this function, it's not a problem for me.

i go to make some tests with and without Magic Zoom, i'll let you know...

ps : another thing concerning the magic zoom function i've recorded : in video mode sometimes the magic zoom frame tends to flicker a lot, it becomes useless except with the 2 green bars on the top and bottom (love this function). but it does not happen all the time...

the same with magic zoom off, lots of black frames, in video mode.

i've just tried in photo mode M, and it seems to be ok, i don't get black frames. image size is 1280*580.
i had some horizontal cuts too during my tests in video mode, like bad sync, but only in the black frames. i've seen, i think, this problem notified in the user guide pdf, so i guess it's in your todo list...

so seems to be a problem in video mode, but i remember to see some timelapses on vimeo that were made with this mode.
perhaps someone, which makes timelapse with silent pic in video mode, can help me and give me his settings to see if something is wrong with mines.

ps : sorry if i make big mistakes in english...
