Too late, Pookmaster, we've been discussing and reveling in the Birdemic goodness for months. It even had a theatrical release in limited markets. It's well worth seeing, but you really kind of have to go at midnight and make sure the crowd is full of like-minded folks. This picture could become a new "Rocky Horror Picture Show".

It does. Don't know when I've enjoyed the theater experience more, than a midnight showing of Birdemic. We all knew what we were there for, and the movie totally delivered. It was awesome.
The director's cool with it too. He actually was showing up at some screenings and autographing clothes hangers! They had special "Birdemic" hangers made, in honor of the scene you linked to.

You should see The Room at the Laemhle theater in Los Angeles. They've been showing it the last Saturday of every month for seven years. It's the most fun I've ever had watching a movie in a theater. People scream at the movie and throw spoons and footballs. I met Tommy Wiseau too. I really desperately want to see Birdemic.

Lots of screenings still to come:

(oh, and there's a sequel. And it's in 3-D, of course.)

Wow, how the hell does a movie that bad get a theatrical release?

Because it was awesome.
On a technical basis, sure, it was terrible. But on an entertainment basis, it was phenomenal. Best enjoyed in a group setting, ideally among like-minded folks, and preferably at a midnight screening.

I was at Sundance the year he was driving around with birds attached to his car trying to sell this thing. A guy I know who worked for Troma at that time became totally obsessed with this movie and was instrumental in it getting distribution.
